As the year 2022 comes to a close, I can't help but look back on all of the amazing experiences I've had throughout the year. As a tour guide in Puglia and Basilicata, Italy, I've had the opportunity to take my clients on tours of Matera, Alberobello, and Bari Vecchia, as well as other parts of the region.
One of the highlights of my year was seeing the reactions of my clients who have roots in Puglia and Basilicata when they saw where their ancestors came from. Many of them were moved to tears and it was truly heartwarming to see them reconnect with their heritage.
In addition to the tours, I've also had the pleasure of introducing my clients to some truly excellent typical restaurants in the region. And of course, there's nothing like seeing the joy on the faces of the children as they explore and learn about their culture.
My clients come from all over the world, but I've had a particularly high number of North American, Australian, and Italian clients this year. I've even had the chance to teach some of them how to make orecchiette with the grandmothers in Bari Vecchia.
This year has also been a time of personal growth for me professionally, thanks to new projects that involve teaching young people between the ages of 16 and 19 how to do my job through school-work alternation programs.
Every day brings a new and exciting experience, and I'm not afraid to embrace it. As I reflect on the past year, I can't wait to see what the future holds.I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for participating in my tours. Your support and enthusiasm have meant the world to me and have made my job all the more rewarding.
As we approach the new year, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you. Your presence on my tours has truly made them special and memorable.
I hope that the new year brings you all happiness, prosperity, and adventure. Thank you again for your support and I can't wait to see you all again on future tours.
Warmly,
Giorgio, your local cousin!
